I provide care for a loved one. Does UCSF offer back-up care support if my regular caregiver is unavailable when I need to be at school?
All UCSF students subject to the UCSF Student Services Fee have free access to back-up care. The UCSF Back-Up Care Program serves all ages and helps students when their regular caregiver is unavailable. Students receive 10 back-up care days per academic year (July 1 through June 30) and have zero co-pays. If the student does not need all 10 days, they can exchange their back-up care days for other benefits such as tutoring services and day camps during select school breaks. Learn more about child and adult/elder back-up care support, and sign up for the program.
