Faculty and Staff Assistance Program
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provides confidential employee assistance services for personal and work-related issues. Support is offered for a wide range of issues including work related stress, relationship/couple issues, family problems, depression, anxiety, or other emotional problems, grief and loss, alcohol, drug and other addictions, consultations and training services for faculty and staff management. STRIDE Staff Group
Welcome to STRIDE (Stronger Together: Resources for Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence), the staff group for the School of Nursing community.
Mission
The mission of STRIDE is to foreground and prioritize discussions and activities to promote advocacy, mentoring, and career advancement while building community and professional development among staff within the School of Nursing. We are committed to promoting an inclusive environment, emphasizing a climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all members of the School of Nursing.
Working Goals
- Ensure opportunities for all staff to become contributors and active members of School governance committees for future planning and implementation of School direction.
- Provide opportunities for all staff education and training regarding foundational diversity/inclusion concepts and practices to address bias, stereotyping, micro-aggressions and exclusionary behavior.
- Promote or organize career advancement workshops and ways to optimize performance evaluations. Identify opportunities and concrete steps to acquire/enhance skills and experience.
- Organize regularly scheduled events, retreats, and/or team-building sessions (formal/informal) across departments, among staff and faculty.
UCSF Health Personnel Dress Standards
Please review the UCSF Health Employee Dress Standards (Policy 4.03.04) and the accompanying FAQs document for important details about the established standards of dress and personal appearance for employees, volunteers and others who represent UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and to provide guidelines for specific departmental dress and personal appearance standards. All UCSF Health personnel, including faculty, staff and trainees, must maintain an overall appearance that will demonstrate respect for others and maintain professional dignity and standards in the eyes of patients, physicians, co-workers and visitors.

Office of Ethics and Compliance
Office of Ethics and Compliance: Employees and students can report complaints of bullying/abusive conduct or Whistleblower complaints via email at [email protected], by calling 800-403-4744, or submitting a complaint via the UC Whistleblower hotline/EthicsPoint portal.
Office of the Ombuds
The Office of the Ombuds serves as a confidential resource for all members of the UCSF community (faculty, non-faculty academics, staff, administrators, students, post-doctoral fellows and other trainees). The Ombuds will listen; help identify options; make inquiries and make referrals as appropriate; and/or facilitate resolutions in an impartial manner. The Office of the Ombuds supplements and does not replace or substitute formal grievance processes made available by the University. Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE)
Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) provides free, confidential support to any UCSF affiliate including students, staff, faculty, post-docs and researchers who have experienced interpersonal violence such as sexual assault, dating/intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, or stalking, or retaliation related to participation in an OPHD complaint resolution process. You may speak with the CARE advocate confidentially about your experiences and receive emotional support and resources. CARE can be reached at 415-502-8802 or [email protected].
Caring for the Caregiver Program
Caring for the Caregiver Program is a confidential peer support team to provide one-on-one, emotional first aid for members at UCSF Health who are traumatized by involvement in an adverse or unexpected patient event, medical error, or stressful patient care experience. The program is available to all health care team members at UCSF Health hospitals and clinic sites to ensure that providers and staff are emotionally supported through the experience of patient care.
