GSR for Substance Use and HIV Prevention Study

Job Description

One graduate student researcher (GSR) is needed to support the project, "Navigate to Health: Linking Minority Youth to Substance and HIV Prevention and Care." The project is led by Carol Dawson-Rose, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor and dean of the School of Nursing, and funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. 

The GSR will assist with participant recruitment in Spanish and will conduct data collection. These responsibilities will take place at La Clínica in Oakland. Specific duties include reading participants the consent form (in Spanish) and providing participants with a tablet to complete a survey questionnaire. If needed, the GSR will read the survey questions (in Spanish) aloud to the participant. 

Work Location: La Clínica in Oakland

Time Commitment and Compensation

First and third Wednesdays of the month in the afternoon, approximately five hours per day. Compensation will be $29.25-$33.96 per hour, depending on experience. 

Required Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • Must be able to travel to La Clínica in Oakland
  • Must be able to work hours on Wednesdays
  • Must have completed CITI training
  • Must be comfortable around people living with HIV
