Director – PhD in Nursing Program
The Director of the PhD in Nursing program provides primary leadership to the UCSF School of Nursing faculty in meeting academic regulatory standards and maintaining a standard of excellence for the PhD program. The director works with the PhD Program Council, the Associate Dean for Educational Programs, the PhD Admission and Screening Committee and the UCSF Graduate Division to:
- implement, monitor, evaluate and modify the PhD program as needed,
- assure effective recruitment and retention of PhD students, and
- collaborate with department chairs to provide support to faculty teaching in the PhD program.

Associate Dean of Research*
The Associate Dean of Research (ADR) provides strategic leadership for the research of the School of Nursing. They are the senior advisor to the dean regarding research and maintaining capacity to be the number one NIH-funded school of nursing. The ADR will be a member of the executive administration team in the school. In pursuing the position responsibilities, the ADR is expected to work collaboratively with the faculty, dean, department chairs, other associate deans, staff in the School of Nursing Office of Research and other UCSF campus leaders in research.

The school seeks scientists with an established research career with preferred areas of expertise in one of the following: areas designated as strategic research priorities for the School of Nursing, namely health equity, aging and the life course, community and population health, digital health and data science, and symptom science; and/or other additional areas aligned with current SBS and IHA areas of strength, including health policy, sociology, health economics, global health, health care systems and institutions, bioethics and sociology of health, medicine and science and technology.
