On October 17, the School of Nursing’s Midwifery and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner programs hosted an intimate conversation with trans lactation activist Trevor MacDonald and filmmaker Cyn Lubow. Trevor is the author of “Where’s the Mother?: Stories from a Transgender Dad.” The following are photographs from the event, which was well received by the audience of nearly one hundred. Following the presentation, the attendees enjoyed a screening of “A Womb of Their Own,” a film about butch and transgender parents who have experienced pregnancy and childbirth (flyer). Special thanks to Heather Sheriff, RN, CNM/WHNP, candidate and first-year masters student Morgan (Mo) Weinert, RN, for their instrumental roles in the event. The UCSF LGBT Resource Center graciously sponsored dinner as well.
