Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences Susan Chapman, RN, PhD, FAAN, and Joanne Spetz, PhD, professor in the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies, are authors of a study, “Emerging Roles for Peer Providers in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders,” which found that peer providers may help alleviate behavior health workforce shortages. The study appears in the June 2018 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
