Amid celebratory cheers, the Master’s Entry Program in Nursing held a Pin Pick-Up and Photo Session for its 2019-2020 cohort on Dec. 1, 2021.

The Pinning Ceremony is a time-honored nursing school tradition and marks the students' matriculation into the two-year Master of Science program portion of their training, after becoming licensed registered nurses. The School had planned a Pinning Ceremony for this cohort in June 2020, but had to cancel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic and California’s shelter-in-place order. The Dec. 1 Pin Pick-Up and Photo Session provided a way to commemorate the students for their achievement and receive their pin and certificate. Additional pick-up events for the 2020 and 2021 cohorts are being planned for winter quarter 2022, with more details to be announced soon.

The event was organized by faculty member Angelita Barrios and Associated Students of the School of Nursing Officer Mel Im-Giuffrida, with assistance from Program Administrator Kizza Chadiha, MEPN Interim Director Mary Foley, and Clinical Nurse Educator Erin Levardo.
