Alumna and Clinical Professor of Community Health Systems Marilyn Chow, RN, DNS, FAAN, has been named a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing (AAN).
Chow will receive AAN’s highest honor for her contributions to nursing workforce issues, including nursing education, quality and credentialing. In addition to her years on the UCSF faculty, Chow served as vice president of National Patient Care Services and Innovation at Kaiser Permanente, and as director of the Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellows program.
Chow, who will be honored at the AAN’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 1, joins a distinguished roster of nurse-leaders who have received the honor, including School of Nursing faculty Marilyn Dodd, PhD, RN, FAAN, Afaf Meleis, RN, PhD, FAAN, Kathleen Dracup, RN, PhD, FAAN, Barbara Durand, EdD, RN, FAAN, Patricia Benner, RN, PhD, FAAN, Susan Gortner, MN, PhD FAAN, and Margretta Madden Styles, EdD, RN, FAAN.
