Jeremy Wong

Jeremy Wong is the newest staff member in Family Health Care Nursing, joining in mid-March as a project policy analyst.

Please describe your role at the School of Nursing: I work within the FHCN department assisting multiple staff and faculty with administrative duties. I help with preparing student curriculum, scheduling simulations and maintaining academic records. My main role is facilitating the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Recruitment and Retention (SAFERR) grant that will train advanced practice nurse students and advanced practice nurses about sexual assault forensic examinations.

What excites you the most about joining the School of Nursing and the FHCN team? Being able to work with such a wide range of respectful professionals. Being around people who embrace their work and provide a team atmosphere makes everyday a blessing. I love how everyone is supportive of each other and really make the effort to know you.

What’s the best advice that someone at the school has given you so far? A couple of key quotes by my good friend and office neighbor Hendrix Erhahon: "Download the Next Bus app, it'll help you time your commutes." "Prepare yourself for some daily exercise. The floor we work on is the only floor with no men's bathroom..." "Stream podcasts and documentaries while on Muni/BART. Educate yourself while traveling!"

Something most people might be surprised to learn about you: I was really involved in sports during my college years. I was vice president of our Badminton Club and held multiple intramural championships (badminton and dodgeball) over the span of five years. I love indoor recreation as well, especially pool/billiards and Texas Hold'em. I feel like games of all types are a great universal way to make friends.

Favorite film: The Departed. I love stories that have unpredictable endings!

If I won the lotto, I would: Hire a financial advisor, support my parents and close family, make sound investments, donate to charities for underserved populations, get involved in grassroots progressive movements, and travel around the world.
