Adam Leonard, MS, MPH, CPNP-PC, was honored with the 2019 Helen Martin Award for Excellence in Clinical Precepting at a May 8, 2019 reception in the UCSF Library’s Lange Room.

Each year, the award recipient is selected from nominations submitted by students. Students were also invited to recognize preceptors who are not eligible for the award at the event. The award is given in memory of Helen Martin to a preceptor whose career follows a similar path of excellent primary care precepting in communities of need. Martin was assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing and clinical director of Valencia Health Services, a UCSF-supported pediatric practice.
