Katerina (Kate) Melino, RN, MS, PMHNP-BC, is thrilled to be joining the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program faculty as an assistant clinical professor. She will also take on the role of UCSF program director of the Veteran Affairs Nursing Academic Partnership program at the San Francisco VA. A board-certified PMHNP, Kate has spent the majority of her career working in acute and emergent psychiatric settings in urban hospitals both in the U.S. and internationally – and also brings nearly twenty years of experience working in substance use programs across North America, as well as nursing advocacy and policy experience. Most recently, Kate served as the director of Progress Foundation’s Dore Urgent Care Clinic.
