Sara Ackerman, PhD, from the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences was the recent recipient of the Diana E. Forsythe Award from the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA, www.amia.org).
Her paper, which explored whether diagnostic computer kiosks in four California emergency departments were a benefit or burden, was selected for its integration of informatics and social sciences.
