Current research interests include exploring the effect of strength-based approaches to psychiatric treatment of severe mental illness. After evaluating the patient's internal and external assets, clinicians may utilize the information to identify resources that support recovery. Do patients have untapped resources that may strengthen their recovery when included in the treatment plan? Does spirituality have a place in recovery from serious mental illness? Are personal and community resources utilized adequately in the treatment of severe mental illness?
