The Leadership Academy for the Advanced Practice Provider is an innovative nine-month leadership training program for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and certified registered nurse anesthetists. This initiative features some pre-work, nine monthly four-hour leadership learning sessions, two executive coaching sessions and completion of a leadership project.
Throughout the program, participants will develop the awareness, knowledge and skills necessary to lead teams, transform healthcare and navigate an ever-changing landscape as an advanced practice provider.

Outcomes for this program include:
- Participants will develop awareness of their individual strengths as a leader
- Participants will demonstrate competence of the technical skills required for effective leadership including financial management, health care policy and economics, as well as executive presence and communication
- Participants will lead UCSF and the community through addressing inequalities and advancing diversity in health care and beyond
This program is limited to 20 participants. For this inaugural cohort, the monthly learning sessions and coaching sessions will be offered virtually via Zoom.
