Planning to Enroll this Summer?
Nursing students are not required to attend summer except entering MEPN, Postmaster’s students, and second-year Nurse Midwifery students. If you elect to enroll for summer and need federal financial aid to cover summer tuition and cost of living, you can complete our online “2012-13 Summer Enrollment for Nursing Students” form (https://finaid.ucsf.edu/forms_Summer_Enrollment_Nursing_2012-13).
NOTE: You must confirm your enrollment with a faculty advisor before completing this form, as we need to know which summer session and how many units will you be enrolled, and whether you plan to be full-time for the remainder of the 2012-13 academic year.
Exit-Interview Requirements for Students Who Are Graduating or Taking a Leave of Absence:
Students who are graduating or planning to take a leave of absence next academic year must complete an exit-interview process if they had borrowed a federal student loan. If you had borrowed a Nursing Student Loan or University Loan, you must complete an exit-interview with Student Accounting Office. More information will be provided by the Student Accounting Office later in May for students who are graduating. If you borrowed a Stafford or Graduate PLUS loan, you must also complete an online exit-interview. Please visit our website for details.
Deadline for Loan Changes:
If you have any unmet need for this academic year and have been thinking of borrowing a loan to cover it, now is the time to review your finances. May 1 is the last day for the Student Financial Aid Office to process any additional loans for the current (2011-12) academic year.

The Student Financial Aid Office website (http://finaid.ucsf.edu) can be accessed any time to obtain check disbursement dates, information on the financial aid process at UCSF, download SFSO forms, etc. Our office is located at Millberry Union, Room 201W. Commencement Reminders!
The UCSF School of Nursing Commencement will be held at at the Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Guests/participants should arrive at 5:00 p.m.; the ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. The main entrance to the building is located on Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Franklin Street in San Francisco. Davies Symphony Hall is a large venue so no tickets are necessary; open seating, first come first served. The ceremony lasts about one hour forty-five minutes. For those wishing to make dinner reservations, we would advise an 8:30 p.m. reservation.

Purchasing Professional Photographs
If you think you might be interested in purchasing professional photographs of your graduation, you will have an opportunity to provide an email address on the evening of graduation. There is no obligation to purchase these photos; rather, should you wish, you will be notified after the ceremony when photographs are available for you to view on a particular website. Information on purchasing the photos will be on the same website.

Sigma Theta Tau Cords. Members of Sigma Theta Tau who wish to purchase cords that can be worn with graduation regalia should purchase them online through STTI when paying your registration fee or from Zina Mirsky in N319F (at a cost of $12.00; check made payable to Alpha Eta Chapter). If you are a new member and have paid by induction order form, you will receive the cords in the mail at the address you indicate.
Several questions have arisen regarding transferring membership from one STT chapter to another. For more information about holding dual membership or transferring your membership to another chapter, go to http://www.nursingsociety.org/membership/FAQ_membership.html and you will be linked to additional information. There is a $5 administrative fee to process any request for transferring membership to another chapter or adding additional chapters as a dual member.
