Suzanne L. Dibble, RN, DNSc
Professor Emerita
My interest in research came from my clinical practice and my experiences as a lesbian nurse. For over three decades, I've cared for and studied individuals with chronic illnesses especially cancer and their families. My primary commitment has been to outcomes research and to developing evidence on which to base clinical practice. In addition, I have undertaken to help nurses to provide care in a culturally appropriate manner through editing two books: Dibble SL & Robertson PA. (2010). Lesbian health 101 and Lipson JG & Dibble SL. (2005) Culture and clinical care and co-authoring another - Eliason M, Dibble SL, DeJoseph JF, Chinn PL. (2009). Lesbian, gay, bisexual, & trangender cultures: What the clinician needs to know.
