Marcia S. Wertz, RN, PhD, CCRC
Assistant Adjunct Professor
Clinical Research Nurse, S/Medicine, Department of Pediatrics: Endocrinology
I am interested in prevention of chronic diseases associated with obesity and diabetes through health policy, community-based initiatives, and clinical intervention. I received my doctorate from UCSF after conducting a phenomemological study of obese adolescent females. My current work with the School of Medicine involves managing an array of clinical trials aimed at preserving beta-cell function in persons with type 1 diabetes to improve health outcomes.
