Since 1996, I have been the Project Director of Dr. Christine Miaskowski’s funded research studies in oncology symptom management, which have focused on descriptive longitudinal explorations of pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and depression in cancer patients and the genomic markers of different symptom experinces. Two studies tested the effectiveness of a psycho-educational intervention in helping cancer patients reduce their pain. I have mentored a number of masters and doctoral students in various aspects of project management and the research process.
