Washington, DC (August 25, 2011) – The American Academy of Nursing is proud to honor five nurse leaders as Living Legends for their extraordinary accomplishments and life-time achievements. Designation as a Living Legend represents the Academy’s highest recognition.

UCSF Chancellor Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH (pictured at right) introduced a two-day event for the School of Nursing community. Called by Dean David Vlahov, RN, PhD, the Rally was an opportunity for faculty and staff to address the future of UCSF School of Nursing.
